The minimum age to obtain a CDL is 18, for Class B and 21 for class A.
How to get a CDL?
In order to get a CDL you must…
- Find out what class CDL you want to obtain. Class A, B or C.
- Complete the application. (This can be done in person or online.)
- Get a DOT Physical.
- Personal Verification Documents, Birth Certificat, Driver’s License, Social Security Card, Evidence of Residency, Evidence of Clean Driving Record.
- Research the CDL Handbook/Training Guide. (These can be obtained at the DMV & on the DMV’s website.)
