    Brake Awareness Month

    By J Spangenberg | Blog | 0 comment | 16 July, 2020 |

Did You Know? August is Brake Safety Awareness Month.
During August, agencies reach out with awareness efforts to educate Drivers, Motor Carriers, and others in the industry, about brake maintenance operation and performance.

Brake Safety Week is a way to help keep our roads safer by running roadside inspections to reduce brake related crashes and remove hazardous vehicles from the road.

    Break Safety Week

The commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance is holding “Brake Safety Week”, which is scheduled to take place August 23rd-29th.

Enforcement Agents are going to be inspecting Commercial Vehicles during this week, any vehicles that have brake violations and any other inoperative violations, will not be able to travel until the issues are fixed.
Vehicles that pass inspection, will receive a “Passed Inspection” CVSA Decal.

Evaluating Brake systems are a necessary part to roadside safety and this time around, they are highlighting the importance of mechanical safety, especially for the brake hoses & Tubing.
Last year, 45% of all vehicles that received inspections had some sort of brake violation. Brake violations were the #1 Commercial Road Violation of last year, 13% of these vehicles were put under “Out Of Service”.
