It was brought to our attention that a new Phone Scam is circulating. People are receiving a phone call from the number
770-896-7790. THEY CALL LATE AT NIGHT, STATING THEY ARE FROM DOT, and that your company vehicle has been in an accident. They say everything is okay, but they have to call Fleet Services to repair your truck in order to clear the road and move on.
They ask for any type of account, EFS, COMDATA etc…
Then THEY WILL ASK WHO THE SAFETY MANAGER IS, and start using their name LIKE THEY KNOW THEM PERSONALLY, and that your employee is aware of the situation.
Beware! Suddenly, THEY WILL ASK FOR 12,000 IN COMCHECKS. THIS IS A SCAM, DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM. They call late at night, knowing that the higher ups for your company are not working late at night, and will fool the night crew into giving up your info.
If you get this scam call, hang up, or use a fake number.
The call can last up to even an hour.
