What is it?
International Registration Plan.
Goes hand-in-hand with IFTA.
KYU
What is it?
A Permit/Tax that is specific to the state of KY.
Required for vehicles that weigh 60,000lbs and up.
NEW MEXICO
What is it?
A Permit specific to the state of NM.
Required for vehicles that weigh over 26,000lbs.
NY-HUT
What is it?
A Permit/Tax specific to the state of NY.
Required for vehicles that drive on NYS highways and weigh over 18,000lbs.
HVUT
What is it?
Yearly Tax for vehicles over 55,000lbs.
It is based on categories.
CT-HUF
What is it?
A Permit/Tax that is specific to the state of CT.
Required for vehicles that weigh over 26,000lbs and are not a single unit.
OVERWEIGHT PERMITS
What is it?
A Permit that allows a vehicle to carry more than its registered GVW.
Varies by State.
IFTA
What is it?
A Federal Permit/Tax.
Required for vehicles that cross state lines and weigh over 26,000lbs or have 3 or more axles.
MVT
What is it?
A yearly Permit/Tax specific to NYC that runs from
May-June.
AFC
What is it?
A Permit/Tax for Motor Carriers who transport fuel.
VEHICLE TAXES
